Shire Skeleton

Description

Well, this skeleton was mainly a test to see
1) IF I COULD DRAW A SKELETON
2) IF THIS WOULD HELP MY ANATOMY
3) IF IT WAS AWESOME.

All of the above.

Well anyways, this may help those of you with Shire's anatomy. I based nearly everything you see off of a real Deinonychus skeleton, but there are, of course, some differances. Below is listed all (or some) of the exceptionalities that Shire has.

:bulletblack: Shire has a narrow skull with a large snout. While she wasn't very good at biting, she had a very keen sense of smell.

:bulletblack: She always has 4 teethy protruding on either side of the face. The other teeth are smaller and fit neatly inside the jaws.

:bulletblack: Her eyes were fairly large, contributing to great vision and accuracy.

:bulletblack: Her horns were made of keratin (I think that's how it's spelled) and stood on her skull right above the eye ridges.

:bulletblack: Her cervical vertebrae was very flexible, allowing her to swivel her head around quickly, almost like a ball joint. Her neck had a wide range of motion.

:bulletblack: Her chest plate was wide enough to cradle a 6-inch crystal, but it was very thin. She couldn't stand much of a blow to her chest this way.

:bulletblack: Her dorsal vertebrae also were very wirey, and flexible, unlike most theropods. It could bend much further, allowing her to leap and twist in combat much easier.

:bulletblack: She had long, bony fingers with hooked claws at the end. Each of her hands had four digits, allowing for more ability to grasp and carry objects. She also could pick a lock with her claws when needed.

:bulletblack: Her pelvis was somewhat stubby, which contributed to her lithe structure.

:bulletblack: She had 3 4-inch spkies made of keratin on each side of her hip. They probably couldn't be a very useful weapon, seeing as how they aren't in a very useful position.

:bulletblack: Her long, thin legs were useful when it came to running and leaping, but she probably couldn't attack or kick too hard. If crushed by a stronger opponent, they might not heal.

:bulletblack: Her feet each had four toes, unnlike most dromeosaurs; three normal toes, and one toe for her sickle claws.

:bulletblack: Her long, flexible tail was over half the length of her body, which led to a great deal of aerodynamicy. The vertebrae at the base of the tail were stiff, in order to keep balance while running and leaping, but the rest of her tail was as flexible as a whip. It might've served the same purpose, though it wouldn't be a very useful weapon.

:bulletblack: Even though this isn't part of the skeleton, Shire's "wings" were actually made of a thin but durable metal. Each "wing finger" was connected to the base by a magnetic force beyond comprehension.

So, here you go! This is my first skeleton, so....I hope it's good....but no matter what, I'm proud of it. :)
